Activism I am involved with a number of social concerns, both as an organizer and a documenter of events. Raising My Voice is a visual archive of many events, rallies, and marches in Edmonton. Running this site has almost become a second profession for me. My channel at YouTube is where all of the videos from the events documented at Raising My Voice are archived. Since Flickr is such as great way to upload and share photos, I also post many of my photos from Raising My Voice there as well. I write about issues of peace and social justice for Suite101.com under the topic of Peace Making. I generally write one article and blog post per week. Active Observer is my social justice column at Our Voice: Edmonton's Street Magazine. I present a social concern of local significance and then try to offer suggestions or alternatives. The Edmonton Social Justice/Activist Resource and Contact Guide is an independent print publication that I edited. I also maintain its web presence, with interactive links and downloadable documents for distribution. The Edmonton Coalition Against War and Racism (ECAWAR) organizes peace marches and events throughout the year. I maintain the website and help organize. The Edmonton Small Press Association (ESPA) promotes independent art, music, and film. I serve on the Board and help maintain the website. Stop Hate 2000 deals with issues of sexual, racial, and religious hatred and persecution. I contributed some book reviews to the site, and also created a mini-site on anti-Semitism. |
