Writing and Editing

Writing and editing have been the main areas of my professional work. Below is a sampling of my work online. I also enjoy inspiring others to write, and have a blog dedicated to this purpose called Write Now: A Journal for the Journey of Writing.

Boyle McCauley News - A community newspaper serving the neighbourhoods of Boyle Street and McCauley. I've been Editor since April of 2006 and am responsible for the day to day operations of the paper, as well as managing the content and maintaining a production schedule.

Prairie Books NOW is a literary journal featuring author interviews that is distributed in book stores and libraries throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

Edmontonians is a quarterly publication about business and community in Edmonton. I write feature profiles of businesses, restaurants, and entrepreneurs.

The Jewish Archives and Historical Society of Edmonton and Northern Alberta (JAHSENA) publishes a newsletter three times a year for which I write one or two major features rquiring a lot of research.

I write articles about social issues and activism for Flurt!, the website of a magazine that is meant to empower young women. Here is an archive of links to my articles.

The Phoenix Multi-Faith Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of interfaith cooperation. I write articles about interfaith cooperation that appear on their website.

Active Observer - An online archive of my column in Our Voice Street Magazine and From the Ground Up.

Yelp.ca is both a city site and social networking tool. I was a Scout for Edmonton, and continue to write reviews of local businesses and restaurants.

EdmontonDining.com - A delicious endeavour, here is an archive of my restaurant reviews for this local portal.

Where Edmonton Magazine - Where is a magazine aimed at travellers, featuring Edmonton's attractions and hot spots. Some of the articles are published online.

Soapbox Columns - A few short personal essays I wrote for Soapbox, which was an Australia-based magazine aimed at the homeless.

Relationship Well-Being - I wrote a few articles for this website that discusses health and relationships.

The Dragon in the Forest - A short story for children, including photos from a performance.
